About
Abul Khair Welfare Organization is a registered welfare organization working in the villages of Nabinagar Upazila, Brahmanbaria. We are named after A.K. Rafiqul Hussain, and we have run a free weekly clinic without a break since 2019.
The distinguished individual of this region is A.K. Rafiqul Hussain, known as Khair Mia Sab, a legendary and highly respected personality in the area. In honor of his name, his son Moyeedul Hussain Marshal began this effort to improve the lives of people here, focusing on development, education, healthcare and infrastructure.
The work is deliberately small in scale and close to home. The clinic office sits at Baishmouja Bazar on the Meghna river bank. The academic building is going up at Uttar Lakshmipur High School. The families who receive winter blankets live in Krishnanagar and Birgaon Unions. Everything we do can be visited in an afternoon, which is exactly how we want donors to be able to check it.
We are not a political organization and we do not run any business for profit. We take no position in local politics and we ask nothing of the people we serve beyond their name and their symptoms.
Five programs. Healthcare is the largest and the oldest: a free clinic every Friday at Baishmouja Bazar, plus mobile camps that go out to villages roughly twice a month. Food Support delivers emergency grocery packages, Ramadan and Eid packages, and regular rations to households that cannot manage month to month.
Emergency Relief covers the shocks: floods, winter cold, house fires and medical emergencies that a family cannot pay for. Education runs stipends from primary to higher secondary level, a free computer course that has completed eighteen batches, and the polytechnic training that will be taught in the Academic Building now under construction. Livelihood grants give a household with no capital a single productive asset, once, outright.
None of it charges the people who use it. There is no membership, no means test on the clinic door and no requirement to come from a particular village, community or party. We ask patients for their name, their age and their symptoms, and nothing else.
Held at Pirbari in Uttar Lakshmipur Hajir Hati village, under mango and guava trees.
Inaugurated with Ek Ronga Ek Ghuri, in the presence of doctors, nurses, volunteers and community elders.
Emergency food and medication reached 800 families during the lockdowns.
Registered with the Ministry of Social Welfare as Brahman 615/24, and construction began on the Abul Khair Academic Building.
Seven years of weekly clinics and mobile camps, reported after the free medical camp of 1 May 2026.
Twelve people carry the organization: three in leadership, five running the medical side, two on field programs and campaigns, and volunteers who give their Fridays.
