Donations are gifts

A donation to Abul Khair Welfare Organization is a gift, not a purchase, and it is not normally refundable once it has been received and allocated to a program. We ask for that understanding because the money moves quickly: a gift received on a Thursday may be medicine on a Friday.

When we will refund

We will refund a donation in full in any of these cases, provided you tell us within thirty days of the payment:

• You were charged twice for the same gift
• or the same gift went through more than once.
• The amount taken was not the amount you intended
• for example a typing error in the custom amount field.
• The payment was made without the cardholder's authority.
• We were unable to use the gift for the restricted purpose you specified and you would rather have it back than let us move it to general funds.

How to ask

Email support@abulkhairwelfare.org or call +88 01768 003 747 with the date of the donation, the amount, the name it was given in and the receipt or transaction number if you have it. You do not have to explain yourself beyond identifying the payment.

How long it takes

We acknowledge every refund request within three working days. Once approved, a card refund is returned through the same payment route and appears on your statement according to your bank's own timetable. Bank transfer refunds are sent back to the account the money came from. Processing time from approval to money returned: how long a refund takes from approval to the money reaching the donor

Monthly donations

You can cancel a monthly donation at any time from the donor dashboard or by writing to us, with no notice period and no explanation. Cancelling stops all future payments. Payments already collected are not automatically refunded, but if a payment was collected after you tried to cancel, tell us and we will return it.

Offline and mobile money donations

Donations made by bank transfer or mobile money are refunded to the originating account once we have verified the payment. We may ask for proof of the transfer, because a name on a bank statement is not always enough to identify the sender.

Receipts

Refunded donations are removed from your donation history and any receipt already issued for them is void. If you need written confirmation of a refund for your own records, ask and we will send it.
