A free technical institute being built at Uttar Lakshmipur High School, so that young people in this area can qualify in a trade without leaving the district to do it.
The Abul Khair Welfare Organization has embarked on a transformative mission with the construction of the Abul Khair Academic Building, a key component of the Abul Khair Polytechnic Institute. This ambitious project is designed to equip the youth of the region with critical technical skills, setting them on a path towards self-reliance and financial independence.
At the heart of this initiative is Marshall Hussain, the founder of Abul Khair Welfare Organization. His aim is simple but powerful: to give local young people the skills needed to succeed in a competitive global labor market. By mastering trades such as welding, plumbing and electrical work, they will gain both confidence and the tools to build a stable future.
The Abul Khair Polytechnic Institute aims to be more than just a school. It is intended as a source of opportunity in a rural area where access to quality education is limited. Offering free training in technical fields, the institute will give students the knowledge and expertise to work both locally and abroad. The construction of the Academic Building is the first step in making that possible.
With a large part of Bangladesh's economy dependent on remittances from workers overseas, it matters enormously that the workforce is equipped with specialized skills. Skilled workers are in demand globally, and this project is intended to help shift the pattern away from exporting unskilled labor towards sending out trained and certified people.
The institute's goal is to fill that gap, offering young men and women the training they need to become sought-after professionals. In doing so it contributes not only to personal growth but to the country's economic development.
For the young people of this region the Abul Khair Academic Building represents a new beginning: a chance to learn, to grow and to succeed. As construction progresses we look forward to seeing how the building shapes the future of the area and creates change that lasts for generations.
Free technical education in the trades that pay locally and abroad.

Wiring, installation, maintenance and repair, the skills every workshop and building needs.
Machine sewing to a factory standard, the largest single employer of women in Bangladesh.
Installation and servicing, a trade with steady demand and very few trained people in this upazila.
The Academic Building is going up in the grounds of Uttar Lakshmipur High School, which is deliberate: an existing school brings a compound, a boundary, a caretaker and a community that already sends its children there. The design is a four-storey block with teaching space on the upper floors and workshop space at ground level, where welding and electrical work need height, ventilation and a floor that can take equipment.
Construction has been funded stage by stage rather than borrowed against, which is slower and is the reason the frame stood for a period before fitting out began. Each completed stage is photographed and reported to the donors who paid for it.
The Academic Building at Uttar Lakshmipur High School is under construction. Current stage, completion date and the remaining cost: construction status, expected completion date and remaining funding required for the Academic Building
Young men and women from the villages around Uttar Lakshmipur who have finished school, or left it, and have no route into a certified trade without leaving the district. Training will be free, in keeping with the rule that applies to every program here.
EducationThe 18th batch of the free Office Applications course has finished at the Abul Khair Computer Training Center, with prizes for performance and for perfect attendance.

Every floor completed is another trade that can be taught here rather than in a city nobody can afford to live in.
