Free medical service in Nabinagar: 54 patients treated
Fifty-four patients were treated at the Friday clinic: 24 children, 24 women and 6 men, each given a free consultation, diagnosis and essential medication.
At the heart of Brahmanbaria, the Abul Khair Welfare Organization (AKWO) continues its commitment to humanity through its free medical service in Nabinagar. Every Friday our clinic becomes a place where dozens of underserved families can see a doctor who would otherwise be out of reach. The service is there so that people in the most remote parts of this area are not left behind, whatever their financial situation.
Our latest weekly report
On our most recent service day, 54 patients were treated. The breakdown was as follows:
- 24 children, most of them with common conditions such as itching, loose stools and fever. Children are the most vulnerable members of society and often face the greatest difficulty in getting to a doctor at all.
- 24 women, with cases including general weakness, joint pain, headaches and nutritional deficiency. Women here are especially exposed to health problems because of the demands of family care and household work.
- 6 men, treated mainly for fatigue, body aches and skin irritation. Men often overlook their own health, and the clinic gives them care and consultation without cost.
Every patient was offered a free consultation, diagnosis and essential medication, with an emphasis on follow-up and prevention. The aim is that patients not only recover but understand how to avoid the same problem returning.

What makes our medical support stand out
At AKWO we do not just prescribe medicine. We listen, we explain and we follow up. Our weekly medical service in Nabinagar:
- Operates completely free of cost, with no financial barrier of any kind.
- Is staffed by licensed medical professionals, so that every patient is seen by a qualified doctor.
- Provides free medication and basic diagnostics, so that a prescription is not a bill by another name.
- Reaches the most remote and underserved parts of our community, including people who would otherwise never see a doctor.
Our approach is built around respect and privacy, especially for women and children, who carry the greatest share of healthcare inaccessibility here.
Part of a bigger vision
AKWO is more than a clinic. Registered under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Bangladesh (Reg No. Brahman 615/24) in 2024, our aim is to support the deprived and the destitute with the resources they need to make their own way. Our ongoing projects include:
- The weekly free medical center, which at the time of this report had served over 12,000 patients through the Nabinagar service.
- The Abul Khair Polytechnic Institute, under construction, which will provide free technical training.
- Educational stipends, currently supporting 21 students.
- Business donations, which help small entrepreneurs start or expand a trade.
- Eid relief, which last Eid reached 100 families with food and essential supplies.
Why Nabinagar
Nabinagar, a sub-district of Brahmanbaria, is home to thousands of low-income families. Because public healthcare is hard to reach and awareness is limited, common and treatable illnesses often become severe before anyone sees a doctor. The free medical service in Nabinagar exists to close that gap.
Join the cause
We welcome partnerships, volunteers and donors. Together we can build a healthier Brahmanbaria, keep the next generation in education, and help families create a steady income of their own.
